Frank C. Allen, Jr. serves as special counsel to Killeen & Stern,
PC and provides services to the firm’s clients in several
areas of practice, including maritime, products liability,
environmental and toxic torts, insurance coverage and defense,
contracts, general litigation, mediation, and corporate and
business legal compliance. Mr. Allen was born in New Orleans,
Louisiana in 1934. He received his undergraduate degree in
chemical engineering from Tulane University in 1955. Mr.
Allen earned his J.D. and was admitted to the bar to practice
law in Louisiana (1964), Mississippi (1977), and Texas (1991).
Mr. Allen joined a private firm in New Orleans, Louisiana
in 1964, where he specialized in the defense of offshore
maritime claims, pollution and property damage, products
liability, and other litigation in federal and state courts.
Mr. Allen left private practice in 1978 to join McDermott
International, Inc., where he served as vice-president, general
counsel, and corporate secretary, and bore primary responsibility
for all legal matters of the company’s worldwide marine
construction, fossil and nuclear power construction, and
government service groups. As corporate secretary for McDermott
International, Inc., he was responsible for maintaining corporate
records, preparation of materials for compliance with the
Securities and Exchange Commission’s rules and regulations,
annual proxy documents, as well as related corporate documents.
He also served as the interface with the company’s
audit committee and international and independent auditors.
Prior to retirement from McDermott International, Inc., Mr.
Allen was responsible for the corporation’s risk management,
safety, and environmental operations.
Upon retiring from McDermott, Mr. Allen reentered private
practice, where he represented clients in international contract
matters, toxic tort and insurance defense claims, and also
advised clients with respect to corporate governance and
legal compliance.
Mr. Allen is a member of the bar associations of Mississippi,
Louisiana, and Texas and is admitted to practice in the federal
and state courts in those jurisdictions. He is also licensed
to practice before the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Allen
is a member of The Maritime Law Association of United States,
The British and United States Average Adjustors Association,
the Association of Defense Counsel in Mississippi, Louisiana,
and Texas, the Southern Admiralty Law Institute, the Harrison
County Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association,
and The American Society of Petroleum and Chemical Engineers. |
