Results Oriented Billing
At Killeen and Stern, we understand that we are not the only ones that depend on winning results. Often, our client’s very livelihood rests squarely on our ability to come through for them. That’s why we developed a billing method that is based on results, instead of billable hours. (In the last 12 months, less than 25% of our revenue came from hourly billing fees) While the idea of results oriented fee arrangements may seem unheard of in the legal field, it has helped us build a successful litigation firm. These alternative pricing options mean that we share the risk alongside our client - and we have yet to find a better incentive to win.
One of our alternative billing methods include contingent fees for plaintiffs. This means that we don’t get paid unless you win your case. Additionally, some of our clients have enjoyed a unique blended billing system. These hybrid fees are a specialized blend of a flat fee with a contingent component- and are personalized for each client. These highly flexible billing arrangements are crafted from combinations of contingent, hourly, and flat fees. Whichever arrangement is best for you, we ensure that our success is directly tied to yours.
Our firm is not equipped to “bloat” our bottom line by assigning multiple attorneys to handle a single task, or draw out depositions and discovery in order to double up on billable hours. Instead, we share both the risks and the rewards of each case with our clients. It’s an approach that not many lawyers are willing to take. But we wouldn’t have it any other way.
